Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (1)
Improvement or Relief of Local Compressive Symptoms
Assessment of changes in patient-reported compressive symptoms (such as dysphagia, dyspnea, and local neck discomfort or pressure) following total thyroidectomy compared to baseline status.
6 months postoperatively
Secondary Outcomes (1)
Incidence of Postoperative Complications
Up to 30 days postoperatively
Interventions
Surgical removal of the entire thyroid gland performed under general anesthesia for patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis presenting with compressive or local neck symptoms.
Eligibility Criteria

- Biochemically euthyroid with normal thyroid function test.
- Presence of persistent local symptoms (neck pain, throat discomfort, neck tightness, chocking) for more than 6 months
- Patient fit and motivated to surgery.
You may not qualify if:
