Resistance training added to endurance training
EXPERIMENTALParticipants (elite cyclists) will conduct heavy-load resistance training twice a week in addition to their habitual endurance training for ten weeks
Endurance training
OTHERParticipants (elite cyclists) will conduct habitual endurance training-only for ten weeks
Interventions
Resistance training sessions twice a week for ten weeks
Endurance training for ten weeks (habitual routines)
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if:
- VO2max \> 65 ml/kg/min (male participants)
- VO2max \> 50 ml/kg/min (female participants)
- \>7 hours of endurance training per week for the 6 months leading up to the study
You may not qualify if:
- \- having conducted regular resistance training for the last 6 months leading up to the study
