Brief Summary
This project intends to retrospectively review the medical records of patients with Haglund's syndrome who underwent surgical treatment in the Department of Sports Medicine and Joint Surgery between 2019 and 2026, to analyze the advantages and limitations of totalendoscopic calcaneoplasty combined with Achilles tendon insertion reconstruction compared with conventional open surgery. The findings are expected to provide scientific evidence for individualized treatment of patients with Haglund's syndrome.

Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (3)
Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment-Achilles,VISA-A
Evaluation of foot and ankle function. Higher scores indicate better function.
pre-surgery, 1-month after the surgery, 3-month after the surgery, 6-month after the surgery, 12-month after the surgery
American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-Hindfoot Scale
Evaluation of foot and ankle function. Higher scores indicate better function.
pre-surgery, 1-month after the surgery, 3-month after the surgery, 6-month after the surgery, 12-month after the surgery
visual analogue scale,VAS
The visual analogue scale (VAS) is a pain assessment scale, in which lower scores indicate less severe pain

Study Arms (2)
OPEN
Patients with Haglund syndrome and insertional Achilles tendinopathy treated with open calcaneoplasty.
ENDO
Patients with Haglund syndrome and insertional Achilles tendinopathy treated with endoscopic calcaneoplasty combined with insertional Achilles tendon reconstruction.
Eligibility Criteria
Patients diagnosed with Haglund syndrome and insertional Achilles tendinopathy who received surgical treatment in our hospital. Subjects were retrospectively screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and divided into two groups based on surgical approach. Both groups underwent calcaneoplasty combined with insertional Achilles tendon reconstruction, one via open approach and the other via endoscopic approach.
You may qualify if:
- : Patients had completed at least 12-month postoperative follow-up
- : Complete medical records and imaging findings were available
You may not qualify if:
- : Patients with previous Achilles tendon surgery.
- : Patients with missing medical records or imaging findings that precluded valid evaluation.
- : Patients deemed ineligible for enrollment by the investigators for other reasons.
