Brief Summary
The aim of this study is to:
- To determine the pattern of clinical presentations of celiac disease (CD) over the past 10 - 14 years in Egyptian children.
- To study the various clinical presentation of CD in Egyptian children.
- To evaluate the pattern of CD in relation to different age groups in our children.
- To correlate between the clinical presentations of celiac disease and the upper GIT endoscopic findings.

Primary Outcomes (1)
Pattern of Clinical Presentations of Pediatric Celiac Disease
The percentage of children presenting with celiac disease will be determined.

Study Arms (1)
Study group
Children aged 6 months to 15 years diagnosed with celiac disease and followed at the Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic of Cairo University Children's Hospital between January 2009 and December 2023. Clinical, laboratory, serological, endoscopic, and histopathological data will be retrospectively extracted from their medical records. Patients will be analyzed according to the period of diagnosis (2009-2011, 2012-2019, or 2020-2023) and age at diagnosis (\<2 years, 2-5 years, or \>5-15 years).
Interventions
No therapeutic or diagnostic intervention will be administered as part of this study. Existing medical records will be retrospectively reviewed to collect demographic, clinical, laboratory, serological, endoscopic, and histopathological data relating to children diagnosed with celiac disease between January 2009 and December 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Children diagnosed with Celiac disease by clinical picture and laboratory investigations, following in pediatric gastroenterology clinic of Cairo University children's hospital in past 14 years
You may qualify if:
- Children in the age range from 6 months to 15 years diagnosed with Celiac disease.
- Any sex.
You may not qualify if:
- Age less than 6 months or more than 15 years.
- Patients or parents unwilling to share their personal, social and medical data or refuse to participate in the study.
- Celiac disease patients with other gastrointestinal or non-gastrointestinal diseases (e.g., inflammatory bowel disease) that might interfere with data interpretation.
