Brief Summary

The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of pre-meal supplementation with SugarLock® peanut skin extract and white kidney bean extract on reducing or delaying postprandial blood glucose elevation and glycemic fluctuations, and to evaluate their potential as nutritional supplements for postprandial glycemic management.

Primary Outcomes (1)

  • Interstitial fluid glucose level (mg/dL)

    Postprandial glucose responses will then be continuously monitored by continuous glucose monitoring system (CGM) for 3 hours

    at 3 hours after eating white rice

Eligibility Criteria

Age18 Years+

Healthy VolunteersYes
Age GroupsAdult (18-64), Older Adult (65+)

You may qualify if:

  • Adults aged 18 years or older;
  • Fasting blood glucose level \< 100 mg/dL;
  • Individuals without type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

You may not qualify if:

  • Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study period;
  • Individuals with chronic gastrointestinal diseases (such as irritable bowel syndrome \[IBS\], inflammatory bowel disease \[IBD\], chronic diarrhea, celiac disease, short bowel syndrome, ulcers, colorectal cancer, etc.), a history of epilepsy or seizures, psychiatric disorders, malignant tumors, endocrine disorders, liver or kidney disease, or other major organic diseases;
  • Individuals with a history of gastrointestinal surgery or organ transplantation;
  • Individuals who have taken medications or supplements affecting blood glucose or insulin within the past three months;
  • Individuals allergic to peanuts or white kidney beans;
  • Full-time employees in the same department as the principal investigator, and students directly taught by the principal investigator during the current semester.
