Career motivation
Career motivation will be assessed in phase one and two using the Situation Motivation Scale (SIMS) questionnaire.
Phase 1: Baseline (T1), week 12 (T2), week 18 (T3), and week 30 (T4); Phase 2: Baseline (T1), week 12 (T2), week 24 (T3).
Willingness to Work with Elderly People
Willingness to choose a career in gerontological nursing will be primarily assessed in phase two using the Willingness to Work with Elderly People Scale (WEPS).

Interventions
The 12-hour clinical practice program is guided by the Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishments (PERMA) framework. The intervention group undergoes an orientation, three practicum sessions, and a reflective session.
The wait-list control group will not receive any intervention for the first 3-month period.
The participants receive a 80-hour Capability-Opportunity-Motivation-Behavior (COM-B) Model Based Community Practicum Program.
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if:
- (1) being a full-time student in the first year of the nursing program; (2) being capable to communicate in Cantonese; (3) providing voluntary written informed consent to participate in the study.
You may not qualify if:
- (1) having prior work experience in a dedicated aged care setting (e.g., as a nursing assistant in a nursing home); (2) having a planned absence during the intervention period that would cause them to miss more than two sessions of the program.
