Primary Outcomes (3)
Proportion of total fixation duration on human faces, context, activity areas
Proportion of total fiaxtion duration on human faces, context, activity areas was calculated as (total fixation duration on AOIs/ total fixation duration on the screen).
During the full 8 minutes video presentation
Number of saccades on human faces, context, activity areas
The number of saccades on human faces, context, activity areas occurring during an interval.
During the full 8 minutes video presentation
Social Prioritization Score on human faces, context, activity areas
The difference in the proportion of fixation time between social and non-social interaction information.
During the full 8 minutes video presentation
Study Arms (2)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Group
Typically Developing (TD) Group
Eligibility Criteria
In this experiment, 47 children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were recruited from an autism rehabilitation institution in Chengdu, and 37 typically developing (TD) children were recruited from a kindergarten in Shehong City. All ASD participants were clinically diagnosed with ASD by hospital physicians according to the DSM-5 criteria. Each participant underwent SRS,AQ,and SCQ tests.
You may qualify if:
- \- For ASD group: confirmed clinical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder(DSM-5/ADOS-2) For TD group:TD children without any developmental or neurological disorders Both groups:Normal or corrected-to-normal vision,no color vision deficiencies, and legal guardian provided written informed consent
You may not qualify if:
- \- TD group: meet the study's group-specific screening cutoffs on SRS, SCQ or AQ ASD group:Failure to meet the study's group-specific screening cutoffs on ADOS-2 Both groups:Known genetic syndromes, significant hearing loss or uncorrectable visual impairment
