EXPERIMENTAL

Two liters (minimum) daily of alkaline drinking-water (pH=9) for 14 days

Other: Alkaline drinking-water

Neutral Water

ACTIVE COMPARATOR

Two liters (minimum) daily of neutral drinking-water (pH=7) for 14 days

Other: Neutral drinking-water

Eligibility Criteria

Age18 Years - 35 Years
Sexmale
Healthy VolunteersYes
Age GroupsAdult (18-64)

You may qualify if:

  • Male
  • Non-smoker
  • Age 18 - 35 years
  • Weight stabile for at least 2 months
  • BMI between 20.0 - 27.0 kg/m\^2

You may not qualify if:

  • Habitual consumption of caloric or artificially sweetened beverages in excess of 1L/week
  • Habitual average consumption of alcohol in excess of 7 drinks/week
  • Chronic or acute illness
  • Previous abdominal surgery
