NCT07853729

Brief Summary

This study aims to evaluate the effect of a drama- and animation-supported first aid education program on first aid awareness, knowledge, and skills in preschool children. The program is designed according to the developmental characteristics of preschool children and uses age-appropriate drama activities, animations, scenarios, visual materials, puppets, and hands-on activities. The study will examine whether participation in this educational program improves children's ability to recognize situations requiring first aid, distinguish safe from unsafe behaviors, seek help from an appropriate adult, and demonstrate age-appropriate first aid responses.

Outcome Measures

Primary Outcomes (1)

  • Change in First Aid Awareness and Knowledge Score

First aid awareness and knowledge will be assessed using the 24-item First Aid Evaluation Form developed for preschool children. Each item is scored from 0 to 2, with a total score ranging from 0 to 48. Higher scores indicate greater first aid awareness and knowledge.

Baseline and immediately after completion of the 5-week education program

ÇİDA Education Group

EXPERIMENTAL

Participants in this arm will receive the Children's First Aid - Drama- and Animation-Supported Education (ÇİDA) Program. Behavioral: Drama- and Animation-Supported First Aid Education (ÇİDA) Program

Control Group

NO INTERVENTION

Participants in this arm will not receive the ÇİDA education program during the comparison period. They will undergo the same pre-intervention and post-intervention assessments as the intervention group. After completion of the post-intervention assessments, the control group will be offered the ÇİDA education program.

Interventions

The ÇİDA Program is a five-week, developmentally appropriate first aid education program for preschool children. It includes drama, animation, storytelling, puppets, role-play, visual scenarios, games, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. The program focuses on recognizing situations requiring first aid, maintaining personal safety, avoiding unsafe interventions, seeking help from an appropriate adult, and demonstrating age-appropriate responses to bleeding, falls and injuries, suspected fractures or sprains, burns, foreign bodies, and choking situations.
