Brief Summary
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an 8-week TRX suspension training program on body composition, anaerobic power, and selected biomotor abilities in young male volleyball players. A total of 26 male volleyball players (aged 14-18 years) were randomly assigned into two groups: an Experimental Group (n = 13) and a Control Group (n = 13). The control group participated solely in their routine volleyball training sessions, while the experimental group performed TRX suspension training twice a week in addition to their routine volleyball training over the 8-week period. Pre- and post-intervention evaluations included body composition metrics, anaerobic power (Wingate anaerobic test), vertical jump height, handgrip strength, leg strength, and a 10-meter sprint test. The findings aim to provide evidence on the efficacy of suspension training for physical performance adaptation in youth volleyball athletes.

Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (4)
10-Meter Sprint Performance
Evaluated using a wireless photocell timing gate system to measure short-distance acceleration. Participants started 50 cm behind the starting line, and the best time of two attempts was recorded in seconds.
Baseline (Week 0) and Post-test (Week 8)
Vertical Jump Height
Assessed lower-body explosive power using a Bosco Ergojump mat. Participants performed maximum vertical jumps with hands placed on hips to eliminate arm swing assistance. The best height of two trials was recorded in centimeters.
Baseline (Week 0) and Post-test (Week 8)
Leg Strength
Evaluated lower-body isometric strength using a leg dynamometer. Participants pulled the bar vertically with maximum force while maintaining a bent knee and straight back posture. The best of two trials was recorded in kilograms.
Baseline (Week 0) and Post-test (Week 8)
Wingate Anaerobic Peak Power
Assessed maximal anaerobic power output using the 30-second Wingate Anaerobic Test on a Monark 834 E bicycle ergometer with a constant load of 7.5% of the participant's body weight. Measured in Watts per kilogram (W/kg).
Baseline (Week 0) and Post-test (Week 8)
Secondary Outcomes (4)
Handgrip Strength
Baseline (Week 0) and Post-test (Week 8)
Body Fat Percentage

Body Mass Index

Experimental Group (TRX + Volleyball)
EXPERIMENTALParticipants performed a structured TRX suspension training program 2 days per week for 8 weeks in addition to their routine volleyball training.
Control Group (Routine Volleyball Training)
ACTIVE COMPARATORParticipants engaged exclusively in their standard routine volleyball training sessions (including technical-tactical drills, small-sided games, and match practice) twice a week for 8 weeks, without receiving any suspension training interventions.
Interventions
An 8-week suspension training protocol consisting of 16 sessions (2 days/week, 16 min/session). Each session included 8 exercises: TRX Squat, TRX Row, TRX Squat Jump, TRX Chest Press, TRX Lateral Jump Squat, TRX Biceps Curl, TRX Assisted Pistol Squat, and TRX Tricep Extension. Training volume was set to 2 sets of 8 repetitions, with 24 seconds of exercise execution, 30 seconds of rest between exercises, and 120 seconds of rest between sets.
Standard technical and tactical volleyball coaching session program, including warm-up routines, passing/spiking drills, simulated match play, and tactical team preparation exercises performed twice a week for 8 weeks.
Eligibility Criteria
