Brief Summary

This study aims to assess parental stress and its relationship with perceived social support and screen time among caregivers of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study will also assess the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of the participating children and their caregivers.

Primary Outcomes (1)

• Parental stress degree

  Parental stress assessed using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-18) among caregivers of children with ADHD

  at the time of enrollement

Secondary Outcomes (2)

• Perceived social support

  at the time of enrollement

• Children's average daily screen time

  at time of enrollement

Study Arms (1)

ADHD primary caregivers

Primary caregivers of children diagnosed with ADHD according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), with ADHD severity assessed using the Conners' Rating Scale. Children aged 6-12 years. Caregivers willing to participate.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 6 Years - 12 Years
• Sex: all
• Healthy Volunteers: No
• Age Groups: Child (0-17)
• Sampling Method: Non-Probability Sample

Study Population

Primary caregivers of children diagnosed with ADHD attending Pediatric neurodevelopmental and psychiatry outpatient clinics at Sohag University hospital.

You may qualify if:

• Primary caregivers of children diagnosed with ADHD according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), with ADHD severity assessed using the Conners' Rating Scale.
• Children aged 6-12 years.
• Caregivers willing to participate.

You may not qualify if:

• Children with severe intellectual disability or major neurological disorders.
• Caregivers won't complete the questionnaires.
