  • Accuracy and Reliability of teledentistry regarding dental caries

    Clinical examination and mobile photo for both arches

    Clinically examined and mobile photo for both arches

    immediately and after 48 hours

Study Arms (1)

School children

Children were clinically examined by the dentist (examiner 1) and a mobile photo was taken by one volunteer dental assistant. While examiner 2 examined the clinical mobile photos and did not participate in the clinical examination. Also, examiner 1 examined the clinical mobile photos after 48 hours as a wash-out period. Calibration was performed between both examiners.

Study Population

School children at a private school in Giza, Egypt.

You may qualify if:

  • Children between 6-12 years old (mixed dentition)
  • Medically free from systematic conditions

You may not qualify if:

  • Uncooperative children
  • Children with orthodontic appliances at time of treatment
