Study Arms (2)
T2DM with Vascular Complications
Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have microvascular or macrovascular complications.
T2DM without Vascular Complications
Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who have no microvascular or macrovascular complications.
Eligibility Criteria
Adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus attending the Internal Medicine Department and Diabetes Center at Assiut University Hospital.
You may qualify if:
- Age 18 years or older
- Confirmed diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus according to ADA criteria
- Written informed consent
You may not qualify if:
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus
- Gestational diabetes
- Acute infection or sepsis
- Hematological disorders affecting platelet count or function
- Malignancy
- Chronic liver disease
- Autoimmune diseases
- Current anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy
- Recent major surgery or trauma
- Pregnancy
