NCT07833254

Brief Summary

This study aims to determine the incidence of venous thromboembolic events (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), among hospitalized patients with interstitial lung disease (ILD). It will also identify potential risk factors associated with VTE and evaluate its impact on clinical outcomes. Patients with ILD admitted to the hospital will be assessed for clinical characteristics, disease severity, risk factors for thrombosis, and the occurrence of DVT or PE during hospitalization. The study findings may help improve early recognition of VTE and guide appropriate preventive and diagnostic strategies in hospitalized patients with ILD.

Study Population

"The study will include adult patients aged 18 years or older who are admitted to the Department of Chest Diseases, Sohag University Hospital, with a confirmed diagnosis of interstitial lung disease (ILD). Eligible patients will be assessed for risk factors, clinical characteristics, and occurrence of venous thrombotic events during hospitalization.

You may qualify if:

  • Age ≥ 18 years. Patients admitted to the respiratory ICU, Chest Department

You may not qualify if:

  • Age \< 18 years. Patients already receiving therapeutic anticoagulation before admission. Known inherited thrombophilia. Active malignancy. Pregnancy. Patients refusing participation. Recent major surgery or trauma within previous 4 weeks.
