Brief Summary
This study aims to investigate acute changes in serum ferritin, folate, vitamin B12, and parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels following aerobic exercise in professional soccer players. Twenty professional male soccer players will voluntarily participate in the study. Participants will complete a progressive 20-meter shuttle run test. Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and after the exercise protocol. Pre- to post-exercise changes in each blood parameter will be analyzed to determine the acute physiological responses to aerobic exercise in professional soccer players.

Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (4)
Change in Serum Ferritin Concentration From Pre-Exercise to Immediately Post-Exercise
Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and immediately after the 20-meter shuttle run test. Serum ferritin concentration will be measured in ng/mL. For each participant, the change will be calculated by subtracting the pre-exercise value from the post-exercise value. The group-level outcome will be summarized using the mean change and standard deviation.
Immediately before exercise and immediately after completion of the 20-meter shuttle run test
Change in Serum Folate Concentration From Pre-Exercise to Immediately Post-Exercise
Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and immediately after the 20-meter shuttle run test. Serum folate concentration will be measured in ng/mL. For each participant, the change will be calculated by subtracting the pre-exercise value from the post-exercise value. The group-level outcome will be summarized using the mean change and standard deviation.
Immediately before exercise and immediately after completion of the 20-meter shuttle run test
Change in Serum Vitamin B12 Concentration From Pre-Exercise to Immediately Post-Exercise
Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and immediately after the 20-meter shuttle run test. Serum vitamin B12 concentration will be measured in pg/mL. For each participant, the change will be calculated by subtracting the pre-exercise value from the post-exercise value. The group-level outcome will be summarized using the mean change and standard deviation.
Immediately before exercise and immediately after completion of the 20-meter shuttle run test
Change in Serum Parathyroid Hormone Concentration From Pre-Exercise to Immediately Post-Exercise
Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and immediately after the 20-meter shuttle run test. Serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) concentration will be measured in pg/mL. For each participant, the change will be calculated by subtracting the pre-exercise value from the post-exercise value. The group-level outcome will be summarized using the mean change and standard deviation.
Immediately before exercise and immediately after completion of the 20-meter shuttle run test
Study Arms (1)
Aerobic Exercise
EXPERIMENTALAll participants will complete a progressive 20-meter shuttle run test. Venous blood samples will be collected immediately before and immediately after the exercise protocol to assess acute changes in serum ferritin, folate, vitamin B12, and parathyroid hormone concentrations.
Interventions
Participants will perform a progressive 20-meter shuttle run test by running continuously between two lines positioned 20 meters apart in time with prerecorded audio signals. Running speed will progressively increase as the interval between the audio signals decreases. The test will end when the participant fails to reach the designated line before the signal on two consecutive occasions.
