Brief Summary
This study aims to examine the effect of an action simulation circuit training for individuals who have experienced upper extremity weakness following a stroke. The study will also examine the feasibility of the intervention as an occupational therapy rehabilitation approach. Participants will:
- Engage in four workstations within the circuit training format: mental practice, action observation, virtual reality, and repetitive task-specific practice.
- Participate in training 2x/week for 6 weeks (12 sessions).

Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (3)
The Acceptability of Intervention Measure
The Acceptability of Intervention Measure is a survey that measures the participants' perceived acceptability of the intervention. Participants rate their perceptions on a 5-point Likert scale, from completely disagree to completely agree.
Following the 6-week circuit training group.
Feasibility of Intervention Measure
The Feasibility of Intervention Measure assesses the participants' perceptions of how feasible the intervention is for stroke rehabilitation. Participants rate their perceptions on a 5-point Likert scale, from completely disagree to completely agree.
Following the 6-week circuit training group.
Intervention Appropriateness Measure
The Intervention Appropriateness Measure assesses the participants' perception of how appropriate the intervention is to address upper extremity hemiparesis after a stroke. Participants rate their perceptions on a 5-point Likert scale, from completely disagree to completely agree.
Following the 6-week circuit training group.
Secondary Outcomes (2)
Fugl-Meyer Assessment
Before the circuit training group and following the circuit training group.
Stroke Impact Scale
Before the circuit training group and following the circuit training group.

EXPERIMENTALInterventions
Participants rotate between four workstations: 1. Mental Practice: participants listen to an audio-guided recording that promotes the cognitive rehearsal of performing a task with their affected upper extremity. 2. Virtual Reality: participants perform virtual reality activities or games involving the use of their upper extremities. 3. Action Observation: participants watch video clips of individuals performing upper extremity tasks. 4. Repetitive-Task Specific Practice: participants physically rehearse various upper extremity tasks with the assistance of an occupational therapist.
