  • Functional outcome of first web space reconstruction

    Functional Assessment: Thumb-index angle measured using a goniometer during maximal thumb abduction by centimeters.

    6 months postoperative

    Functional Assessment: Kapandji Opposition Score

    6 months follow up

  • Functional outcome of first web space reconstrcution

    Grip strength By Handheld dynamometer.

Study Arms (1)

Reconstruction of post burn first web space obliteration in hand

EXPERIMENTAL

Patients with post-burn or post-traumatic first web space obliteration undergoing surgical reconstruction. Functional outcomes (thumb-index angle, Kapandji score, and grip strength), sensory recovery, and aesthetic outcomes will be evaluated over a 6-month follow-up period.

Eligibility Criteria

Healthy VolunteersYes
Age GroupsChild (0-17), Adult (18-64), Older Adult (65+)

You may qualify if:

  • Patients with post-burn or posttraumatic first web space contracture.Functional limitation of thumb abduction Patients medically fit for surgical intervention.

You may not qualify if:

  • Active infection in the affected hand. Uncontrolled diabetes or peripheral vascular disease Previous failed reconstruction of the same web spacel Patients unable to comply with postoperative follow-up.
