Outcome Measures
Primary Outcomes (1)
Prevalence of undiagnosed spondyloarthritis
The percentage of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) who are newly diagnosed with spondyloarthritis based on DETAIL and IBIS-Q questionnaires followed by musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS).
At the time of clinical evaluation (up to 12 months)
Study Arms (1)
IBD Patients
consecutive adult patients diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) who will undergo screening for early detection of spondyloarthritis.
Interventions
All patients will be screened using the DETAIL and IBIS-Q questionnaires, followed by a comprehensive musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS) assessment.
Eligibility Criteria
Adult patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) attending the gastroenterology and outpatient clinics at Assiut University Hospital, who will be sequentially screened for early detection of associated spondyloarthritis.
You may qualify if:
- Adult Aged 18 years old or more Confirmed diagnosis of IBD (by established clinical, endoscopic, and histopathological criteria).
- Patient provides informed written consent to participate
You may not qualify if:
- Known, pre-existing diagnosis of Spondyloarthritis or any other concomitant systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease.
- Severe secondary osteoarthritis or major joint trauma/surgery mimicking SpA. Cognitive impairment or communication barriers preventing comprehension or completion of questionnaires
