Brief Summary

This cross-sectional study aims to evaluate and compare the severity of periodontitis between a group of Egyptian males and females. Additionally, the study explores the association between periodontitis severity and various lifestyle and systemic factors, including oral hygiene habits, dietary patterns (vegetable and fruit intake), and Body Mass Index (BMI). A total of 380 participants (equal numbers of males and females) are examined to determine their periodontitis stage according to the 2017 AAP/EFP classification. Participants also complete a comprehensive questionnaire assessing their daily habits and physical measurements. The findings of this study will help understand gender-based differences in periodontitis severity and identify potential lifestyle risk factors in the Egyptian population.

Primary Outcomes (1)

• Severity of Periodontitis

  Periodontitis severity will be assessed clinical examination to determine the stage of periodontitis (Stage I to IV) according to the 2017 AAP/EFP World Workshop classification criteria.

  At the time of clinical examination (Day 1)

Egyptian Males

Egyptian male patients diagnosed with different stages of periodontitis who completed the study questionnaire and underwent clinical periodontal examination

Other: Clinical Periodontal Examination and Questionnaire

Egyptian Females

Egyptian female patients diagnosed with different stages of periodontitis who completed the study questionnaire and underwent clinical periodontal examination

Interventions

Clinical Periodontal Examination and Questionnaire OTHER

This is an observational study. The intervention consists of a one-time comprehensive clinical periodontal examination to determine the periodontitis stage (according to AAP/EFP 2017 guidelines) and a detailed lifestyle questionnaire completed by the participants. No therapeutic interventions or new treatments are administered.

Egyptian Females; Egyptian Males

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 20 Years - 40 Years
• Sex: all
• Healthy Volunteers: Yes
• Age Groups: Adult (18-64)
• Sampling Method: Non-Probability Sample

Study Population

The study population consists of Egyptian male and female patients visiting the outpatient clinics of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Al-Azhar University and patients in great Cairo ( Cairo , Giza , Qalyoubia ) who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

You may qualify if:

• Patients with periodontitis.
• Age range from 20 to 40 years.
• Patients who are systemically healthy (i.e., without any systemic disease or immune disorders)

You may not qualify if:

• \. Patients with systemic diseases. 2. Pregnant or lactating females.
