Primary Outcomes (1)
Prevalence of depression among patients with alopecia areata
The primary outcome is to assess the prevalence of depressive symptoms among patients with alopecia areata attending the dermatology outpatient clinic at Sohag University Hospital. Depression will be evaluated using a structured validated questionnaire.

Alopecia areata patients
Patients diagnosed with alopecia areata attending the dermatology outpatient clinic at Sohag University Hospital. This is an observational cross-sectional study with no interventions. Data will be collected using a structured questionnaire to assess depressive symptoms.
Interventions
This is an observational cross-sectional study with no therapeutic or experimental intervention. Data will be collected using a structured questionnaire to assess depression among patients with alopecia areata.
Eligibility Criteria
Patients with clinically diagnosed alopecia areata attending the dermatology outpatient clinic at Sohag University Hospital. The study population includes adult patients aged 18 years and above who are willing to participate in the study.
You may qualify if:
- Patients diagnosed with alopecia areata Age 18 years and above Attending dermatology outpatient clinic at Sohag University Hospital Willing to participate and provide informed consent
You may not qualify if:
- Patients with other causes of hair loss Patients with known psychiatric disorders prior to alopecia areata diagnosis Patients refusing participation
