Brief Summary

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the most common cause of dementia that accounting for 60% to 80% of all cases (Better, et al., 2023). According to world health organization (WHO), more than 55 million people globally live with dementia, and this number is expected to rise to 78 million by 2023 and 139 million by 2050 (WHO, 2021).

    Cognitive function will be assessed through among mild to moderate AD patients where low values indicate decrease in cognitive ability.

    After 6 week of Intervention

  • Motor Function

    Motor function will be assessed using the Timed Up and Go (TUG) Test among patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease (AD), where higher scores (longer completion times) indicate poorer functional mobility

Arms 1

EXPERIMENTAL

Arm Description: Game-Based Rehabilitation received total 30sessions, 30 minutes/session, 5 times/week for total 6 weeks.

Other: 3D Kinect based game

Arm 2

PLACEBO COMPARATOR

Arm Description: Conventional Rehabilitation received total 30 sessions, 30 minutes/session, 5 times/week for total 6 weeks.

Other: Conventional therapy group

Interventions

Experimental group will receive X boc kinect 360 bomb such as match makers, traffic control, mouse mayhem, strike a pose, pizza catch, flag frenzy, follow the arrow for 30 minutes for five days a week, for six weeks.

Arms 1

The intervention will run for 30 minutes (excluding rest period), five days a week, for six weeks (Deng, et al., 2025). The patients will take 1-2 minutes rest after 5 minutes of activity. Rest periods of 1-2 minutes after every 5 minutes of activity.

You may qualify if:

  • Alzheimer's disease of age between 50-85 years.
  • Diagnosed AD stage Mild to Moderate.

You may not qualify if:

  • Undiagnosed AD patients.
  • Mental or neurological conditions like schizophrenia, Parkinson's, or stroke.

All participants will be blinded regarding treatment. A total of 38 patients will be recruited and assigned into two groups. Group A will receive Kinect Xbox game therapy exercises and Group B will receive Conventional Circuit Exercises

Kinect game will be given 30 sessions, and intervention will run for 30 minutes (excluding rest period), five days a week, for six weeks, The patients will take 1-2 minutes rest after 5 minutes of activity. Placebo Comparator: Control Group: Conventional Rehabilitation: Conventional exercises will be given 30 sessions, and intervention will run for 30 minutes (excluding rest period), five days a week, for six weeks, The patients will take 1-2 minutes rest after 5 minutes of activity.
