    This study will include all trauma patients who meet registry inclusion and arrive at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center (MDMC) trauma bay with Traumatic cardiac arrest.

This study will include all trauma patients who meet registry inclusion and arrive at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center(MDMC) trauma bay with Traumatic cardiac arrest. Enrollment will terminate once 5 years of data are captured: January 2018 through December 2023.

Interventions

The MDMC Trauma Registry will be queried for demographic information, diagnosis codes, admission dates, traumatic injury characteristics, surgical procedures, comorbidities, inpatient outcomes, complications, consultations, discharge location, and mortality. Additional laboratory values will be abstracted from Epic through retrospective chart review.

Study Population

patients with traumatic cardiac arrest(TCA) have poor chances at survival despite rapid trauma activation responses. The traditional rescue sequence, focusing on airway, breathing, and circulation(ABC), has become standard of care for initial resuscitation for both trauma and non-trauma patients.

You may qualify if:

  • ≥18 years old Included in the MDMC Trauma Registry Cardiac arrest in pre-hospital setting or trauma bay

You may not qualify if:

  • \<18 years old Prisoners, pregnant persons, or other protected population
