Brief Summary

The aim of the study is to assess the association between intake of psychotropic medications and increased risk of falls in older adults discharged from Ain Shams University Geriatric Hospital as a primary outcome and incident fractures that may occur as a secondary outcome of such fall.

Outcome Measures

Primary Outcomes (1)

• Association between intake of psychotropic medications and increased risk of falls in older adults

  Association between incidence of falls 1 year after hospital discharge and intake of psychotropic medications

  1 year after discharge from hospital

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 60 Years+
• Sex: all
• Age Groups: Adult (18-64), Older Adult (65+)
• Sampling Method: Probability Sample

Study Population

older adults both males and females who were admitted to Ain Shams University, Geriatric Hospital

You may qualify if:

• patients (males and females) aged ≥ 60 years old patients who accept to participate in the study

You may not qualify if:

• Patients with malignancy Bedridden patients
